Sometimes I just come across a walk that I don’t want to share – the Vale of Clara falls into that category.  We wanted a walk that was only a few hours and did not include walking up to the peak of a hill.

Great Glen Way

The Great Glen Way is one of Scotlands long distance walking routes.  It is a natural extension of the West Highland Way which finishes in Fort William where the Great Glen Way begins.  The route covers 73 miles (117km), as it wind its way to Inverness.

The Great Glen Way was opened in 2002 and is one of Scotland’s four long distance routes. The Great Glen Way is generally walked from west to east to follow the direction of the prevailing wind, and as we know in Scotland it is much easier to walk without the wind in your face. [Read more...]
